Batur Caldera Sunrise Hiking is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to witness the stunning sunrise in Bali. Located in Songan Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency — about 35 km from Ubud — this breathtaking caldera was formed by volcanic eruptions that occurred around 29,300 and 20,150 years ago.

Itinerary

• Hotel Pick Up: Early morning pick up from your hotel and drive directly to the starting point.
• 04:45 AM – Arrival at Starting Point: Meet your local hiking guide and prepare for the sunrise trek.
• 05:00 AM – Start the Hike: Begin your trail to the sunrise viewpoint, accompanied by a licensed professional hiking guide.
• 05:45 AM – Sunrise Point: Arrive at the viewpoint to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mount Batur. Enjoy your light breakfast served with hot coffee or tea while taking in the stunning panoramic view.
• 06:30–07:00 AM – Explore the Caldera Rim: After sunrise, continue hiking along the caldera rim before descending to Pulak Village, where your traditional boat awaits.
• 08:30–09:00 AM – Lake Batur Crossing: Enjoy a scenic boat ride across Lake Batur to the finishing point.
• 09:30 AM – Return to Hotel: Your hiking experience ends, and you will be driven back to your hotel.
